Our Story

How it all started...

Our first 12+ years as a church has been a testimony to placing your trust in God that He will make your path clear and with unwavering purpose. LifePointe started out as just a group of 25 people, who came to Rusty and Angie Thomas seeking them to plant a church here in Sedalia. On July 16th, 2011, the people voted to have LifePointe become a live church. We began meeting at Liberty Park for about nine weeks, but rapidly grew from 25- 80 people within 3 weeks. From there, we moved to a Best Western meeting room, and then to a warehouse building here in Sedalia. During this time, we grew to 250 people. LifePointe then relocated to the Kim Originals building, where we grew to 350 people. After 5 1/2 years, LifePointe bought the old Aldi's building, which is where we are currently located. Today, LifePointe may see 650 attendees between our three services.

Expanding the vision...

Our vision is to know God and make God known through reaching spiritually disconnected people with the gospel, equipping them to lead their family, and defending those in need. To accomplish this, we actively help with church revitalization. To become more effective in our efforts, we will equip people for ministry and then send these men and women of God out into other churches to awaken and renew them.

Where we are headed...

We feel our story is a unique one and above all else we know our future story will continue with our passion for reaching people far from God and growing those who have a relationship with Him. In order to grow our story, we have bought property in Sedalia, North of 65, where we are planning to build and expand to hold up to 750 people per service. We also plan to add a facility that will equip church leaders and missionaries with the necessary tools to go out and transform their areas of influence throughout our world.
